Our days are spent relaxed, for the most part. My children learn through life-experiences. Every once in a while I'll add in an informal 'assignment'. Recently we took a walk to a lake by our house. A nice family outing! The kids had a great time and when we got back we looked up a tree the kids were admiring on google images. We discussed how the trees drink through their roots. They also got a chance to see all the other trees on that site. This gave them a chance to pull out the map to see where those trees grew.
With a rigid curriculum, how could this day had come about? Would there had been time? Or would the day had been rushed, anxiously trying to keep to that schedule?
They are always anxious to check the mail to see if their penpal has written. When we come home for our regular 'outings', we enjoy playing board games, such as Monopoly, Life or Battleship. We also enjoy card games that we made up ourselves;) That's always fun!!
